The Zentangle of this piece was completed first.It evolved simply by drawing one 'tangle' somewhere on the page, adding another 'tangle', adding a different weight 'tangle' until completion. The colour was added after the zentangle was completed.
Over a period of more years than I care to admit to, I have pursued a number of creative activities ranging from dressmaking, knitting, hand embroidery (particularly cross stitch and blackwork), quilting, zentangle and art journaling along with a few other creative activities to a lesser degree. As a child, I was fascinated with the spirograph and remember spending hours at a stretch creating patterns, patterns and more patterns. I have always wanted to draw and I now feel that I have come full circle with these artworks being a combination of my love of spirograph type patterns and the precision required for, and the geometry of, cross stitch, blackwork and patchwork and quilting.
